Sunday Nov 17
- took train up north, then lunch @ ‘little piggy’, w/ many manga books lining the walls of the restaurant! people just reading manga while waiting for their food facing each other.
- ‘sightseeing’ one-car train, many rice fields along the way, similar vibes when walking through minami alps (yamanashi), but less orchards more rice
- 1.5-2h walk (underestimated the walk oops) through main roads, little streets, and a bamboo grove that L. almost turned back on but i thought it looked like lantau and didn’t feel so sketch, bit tired but then
- finally got to kanzanji onsen!! huge onsen area, rest areas, went in and out of onsens (two sections!), chill with ice cream, was there for maybe 2h or more, great time, probably longest i’ve ever spent at an onsen place (granted there was rest area)
- onsen had free bus back, great surprise
- night time groceries, headache says hello
- late night takeout dinner, now tired + headache growing rip (onsen released tension that’s been around past few days that i feel behind eyes)

looks unappealing but was yum, just the sweet potato tofu miso soup + rice (blasphemy i know but yum)
lunch: cheese pork hamburg tomato sauce rice set was GOOD that hamburg so soft and cheese melty and tomato sauce flavor but light lord im such a sucker for japanese western food and i love it
ok the tiramisu after lunch was such a perf finish + ice cream layers inside and such strong coffee taste i used to not like tiramisu this is how you know you’re growing old rip
late night dinner: take out salt grilled ホケ(hokkaido fish! which i’m pretty sure i had in otaru 🙂 with rice and some furikake~

arrived at train station v princess theme
rice fields!
saw a crow body hung up to scare other crows near fruit trees 😮
found ourselves in a twisty mountain road with bamboo and L. was like sketch? and i was like lantau?
came out of the bamboo grove and suddenly there was a road, such big change
reached edge of lake and me like, tai o (lantau) is that you
sound of waves so peaceful, L. was satisfied
