general quick life update
- Told my boss I would leave my job
- Fast forward several weeks, then quit even earlier (lots of lessons learned; it was not pretty)
- Going to backpack Japan ~3 months while learning to code, practicing Japanese, online tutoring (so my bank acct doesn’t cry too much)
- Ideas for other ways to freelance or support myself appreciated!
- Will be back in HK mid Dec. Will see how I feel, then either:
- Keep backpacking another 3+ months (NZ/Taiwan)
- Go back to Japan and keep backpacking (wary of winter though)
- Move out of HK, find a job
can’t give you more details ’cause that’s about all i know myself lol. i don’t have the answers, just a direction and slowly nurturing self trust + listening to myself even when it’s scary for all sorts of reasons, so here we go, and here’s the process 🙂
more recent life update (~mid Oct 2019)
- decided to backpack at least 4-6 months more after this trip (depending on money)
- will probably leave the coding + tutoring to later since this trip is a lot of hopping, the next leg of the trip will do longer stays + more settling into a routine. will treat this time as the start! 🙂
I’m going to:
- Tokyo
- Hokkaido
- Sapporo
- Niseko
- Hakodate
- Aomori
- Explore Tohoku for a bit (base out of Morioka, Sendai, Nikko and day trip outside)
- Yamagata
- Minami Alps, Yamanashi
- Hamamatsu, Shizuoka
- Maybe Tenryumura? (JSSL ’18 days~)
- Kyoto (see fam!)
- Okayama?
- Shikoku
- Motoyama, Kochi
- Toon, Ehime
- Fly out of Osaka
I’m not looking to see as much as possible, mostly trying to inaka and clear my head, breathe the fresh air I don’t get in dense HK, and enjoy the delicious yums.
