- morning saw the local fish + veg markets, Kさん says fish market every thursday
- helped cleaned their kettle and pot, with shio insisting to help me again so i gave her another sponge, singing while having my music on (‘しおもやりたい!’, idt i was such a 元気な kid like her lol, same with scrambling eggs, which i let her do but would remind her もっと because they weren’t totally scrambled yet, while doing other stuff, Kさん was like you’ll be a good mother me here like LMAO)
- got the afternoon off, did some errands including laundry, also napped a bit, then went grocery shopping
- Sさん came to pick me up and we walked to the after school program (in a different building this time) and it was SO cold, students were busy with tests they had the next day, talked a little with two/three but left early (got super thin pocky and a warm lemon honey drink tho)
- dinner with Yさん recommended sashimi, local style he says, that he split with me, real good stuff

breakfast, quick egg microwaved with leftover rice, milk tea (the uk kind i brought from home! still couple bags left as treat), last of the miso soup with chrystanthenum? stalks
fish market under makeshift roof, Kさん got some shirasu (little sardine fish)
flower market too
indoor veg market the veg was real cheap!
on drive to Kさん’s house, saw these blue/green shimmery worms that are SO long, no idea how they survive so shiny, learned the word 不思議(ふしぎ)because he said you never see these worms but sometimes when it rains they’re everywhere and other living creatures just have this whole life and system that we know nothing about
helped make lunch, the slightly burned omelette, that’s mine- my first time trying to make japanese style tamago
shiitake simmered with mirin and soy sauce, horenzo (i think) quick boiled + chilled+ then in dashi, helped make miso soup, + squeezed yuzu juice to mix with soy sauce to make ponzu for rice + the shirasu! 🙂
started a fire in the afternoon it COLD
old style laundry machine and with no cover, was pretty interesting, fill with water manually (ie. there’s a water tube into it but you choose the water level)
Yさん dropped by to pass me strawberries from his greenhouse and they are delicious *cry, such strawberry flavor and not overly sweet
keeping kettle warm for tea throughout night
got these ‘big’ garlic and they big, two was probs too much
dinner: the teabag of genmaicha which i’m pretty sure Yさん said the tea grower is his friend, tatake sashimi with raw garlic and ponzu as Yさん recommended, garlic and bean sprouts + spinach stirfry (from which i reminded myself not to use too many flavorings at once oops- ginger/leek/garlic oops)
