- explore okayama a lil with S. such a chill city and that river wow + catching up with our other friends at the same time lol
- S. leaves 😦
- head to Shikoku, Kochi Prefecture!
- new host so welcoming and friendly, looking like a good start…!
- (also, it’s cold again rip 😅back to that cold Yamanashi dorm life)

cool mural near where we stayed
bike + river + fall leaves
okayama!
momotaro!
tea bowls so pretty!! really liked the red one in the middle (third from left ish on second shelf from top)
just felt so underrated and so chill
pic doesn’t reflect v well but the reflection in the lake was just so vivid
okayama castle!
castle by river 🙂
didn’t have time to go in, but stopped by the famous botanical garden front gate (1 of the 3 ‘most beautiful’ gardens in japan, one in kanazawa i saw last yr! and the other… somewhere else 😅)
bridge to the garden
real dramatic looking clouds over the foliage when we were walking back
S. brought some tottori dango, where she was just visiting. it’s opposite from normal mochi blobs, this time the bean mash is on the outside! real yum, good sweetness, and 🙂
foliage by river
murasakiimo waffle (purple sweet potato), even tho not warm was real good, that’s how you know it really good
takeout homemade bento for lunch (less than 400 yen!), S. leaves :(, i eat quick then leave the guesthouse and wait at station for couple hours
after bus for couple hours (napped on and off, not rest stops), being picked up by host’s friend (and prev vol), made it to my next stay, not that hungry, so ate the other discounted bread i had gotten from a bakery in okayama– pumpkin cream bread, wasn’t too sweet also didn’t super taste of pumpkin
turns out the new stay gives me a whole space… to myself! i’m excited and grateful to have my own space. haven’t had this … ever! as in, not just a private room, but also with my own kitchen. excited to be able to cook my own food. there’s not much insulation, but there’s a stove so… should be okay! (i hope lol)
also the 2-2.5h bus ride was three columns of single seats, not seats next to each other, was quite interesting, so this couple sitting behind me, but apart, just felt a bit weird
