- imperial castle and nijo castle and foliage
- slow traffic to arashiyama, napped, 1h+
- ONSEN body scrubs such a nice onsen we had a blast
- yum ryokan dinner melt in bed and v slep

breakfast: half konbini onigiri + houjicha roll cake (which we got for lower price because they mistook my order and i tried to japanese and pay the difference but i couldn’t because japan)

and lots of wood and old paintings (burned down in a fire and J. spent a lot of time wondering why imperial castle wasn’t stone like parts of nijo was lol)

these fish were HUGE and trying to eat the food a lil girl was throwing down but this one wildly agile duck just kept literally jumping over them and beating them to it was wild

this tree is grown from the seed of a tree that was within 20(?)km of the atomic bomb 😮

many fish kanji, this store been around 55 years and the third gen had been abroad multiple western countries and came back to work at the fam store 
ok dinner was ryokan dinner (thanks fam for treat cry) and i just don’t even pix cuz i just ate and all you can drink yums

food revelation of the day:
kyoto miso soup is different from other miso soups i’ve had? at first i thought it was just the lunch sushi place but then dinner also had similar miso soup… little more bitter, has some fruit peels + fishy taste, lot more… earthy? v v interesting. wouldn’t say it’s up my alley but def interesting…!
