- third day of four days off in a row!
- got a lot of coding done, so solid. ahead on the units i had set goals to finish before next week (later adjusted to be by this friday aka tomorrow), but ended up finishing them today!
- drive to kawaguchiko, (again, thanks to B.’s generosity for letting L. and I use his car), flower boardwalk, nice shops + nice paper goods, got an ok machine hot choc, sat and watched fuji

classic breakfast~
lunch, all that salmon for ~400JPY can you believe, veg tofu scramble with rice, thanks for L. cooking!
i made dinner~ egg veg mushroom (!!) scramble + rice, milk+mugicha (decaf ‘coffee’~) ngl i think i did great on the scramble, added so much garlic and just the right saltiness
went to visit kawaguchiko! famous lake near mt fuji. thank you B. for letting us borrow his car… glad we did too, because it probably wouldn’t have been worth the ~3.5-4k JPY to get there by public transportation… nor the 4-6h round trip (on car just 2h round trip)…
but also when we finally reached the lake and looked to the right and were like WOAH FUJI that made the drive worth it i think
not to say the view wasn’t amazing, but it’s basically just the view (and ofc we are so spoiled with seeing fuji from our workplace every day lol). there’s not that much to do around the part of the lake we were at. to be fair though, if we weren’t low on gas, we could’ve explored a little more, maybe the museum in the neighboring town also along the lake, or the maple tree avenue, etc, but in terms of just the lake, it was a good view and a short flower boardwalk, and that’s about it… ofc, good view though, so still glad i checked it off the list 👍

lots of tunnels, that even have hills in them! possibly the longest tunnel i have been in ever if not at least in recent memory…!
pink fluffy fan plant reminds me of peacocks and they are actually fluffy not a lie
some weird post modern block apts? in the hills (zoom in a little right behind the roof of the white house)
flower boardwalk with fuji backdrop
these plants get really red apparently but they were fading by the time we saw them, called ‘ragweed’ i think, i like them!
the blobs are lavender plants!
nice shops in a cottage-vibe space ft. this rock bench/spot that has 5 stone hearts embedded in it
drive back with my cloud watching commentary, L. and I laughing and her like lol we’re so tired
fuji and lake kawaguchi again
in the evening realized i only have just a bit over 5 weeks left of this trip… i knew it was 11 weeks and i’m a bit over halfway but didn’t make the connection and oof that seems real short…!
