[DAY33] zao hike! blue then silver okama crater! ALL YOU CAN EAT YAKITORI!!!

Monday, Oct 28
  • back to zao! this time with M., and this time for a proper hike, to okama crater!!
  • very cold, very beautiful, i love mountains
  • tired, knees so weak after many stairs and going downhills (after the uphills) etc
  • the feeling of going over a ridge and seeing an amazing view like a CRATER! just cannot be conveyed through images or even video necessarily… it’s a great feeling
  • ALL YOU CAN EAT YAKITORI AND IT WAS AMAZING

we were going to izakaya/yakitori + karaoke, but then long hike and my knees were dead, so change plan to make food + buy cheap takeout foods from grocery store but then i saw a shabu shabu sign near our yam station stop, then realize it’s kinda far walk but we see this ALL YOU CAN EAT YAKITORI FOR LESS THAN 1500 YEN and the rest is history

there were three kinds of menus but lord ‘economy’ course was already so good. only thing i’d want from the tier up is the meatball stick with the egg, so we just got the rice with egg and used the egg for the stick instead lol

we ordered so many things, and each skewer dish came with 2 skewers… lord, it was so beautiful. sure, the drink was required, but for that price even altogether lord

ok tbh usually not big on ‘all you can eat’ because prices catch up anyway plus i’m small and don’t eat that that much to make it worth but after long hike i was hunger, tbh just wanted chicken anyway, economy course made sense, plus that price was unbelievable

things we had (non-comprehensive list)– also remember skewer dishes are two sticks!! and some things we got multiple of lol: fried sweet mochi, chicken thighs, chicken negi skewers, chicken liver, chilled tofu, caesar salad, cabbage, vinegar cucumber, karaage (this is for you, T.)!!, chicken meatball stick thing and with egg (that we took from the egg rice set), edamame, chicken wings, takoyaki, potato fries, maple syrup taro ball mochi things (way too oily sweet), cherry tomatoes, and whatever else wow just

so good

yes ok that’s enough words

(so good)
