- Nikko area to Yamagata
- hello pronto, my chain japanese pasta and solid milk tea friend
- found M.! finally cooked!! good conversation for the rest of the night 🙂
due to typhoon 19, different parts of japan were affected, and while on the shinkansen to yamagata from utsunomiya, suddenly the same ringtone was popping up all across the train because all our phones were receiving emergency alerts about evacuation procedures (is what i understood from the kanji i could understand) in the area we were passing…!

finally got something zunda (so late to the game i know, I just remember it’s L.’s fav and had to try), but the shake was like ice cream in a bottle. too sweet for me rip.
japanese carbonara, yes to that onsen egg yes yes yes, got the hot milk tea this time, which is foamed inside the tea pot, which is also a solid yes
have not cooked in so long forgot how meditative and soothing and grounding it is
store bought gyoza + our rice + veg because i need veg and health
have not cooked in a really long time. when i get my own place some time in the future (inshallah), i already have so many ideas about the things i’ll make, how i’ll cook during the week, things i’ll store and just always have around… i just love cooking, how it’s so meditative and grounding in the moment, how it’s rewarding in the end, whether it tastes good (which would be great) or not (because then i learn and think about how to do better).
looking forward to cooking more while I stay with M.!
