[DAY17] busy, 25 guests, gender x shaving, great food again

  • busy day, some guests just left and 25 new guests coming in this day, made many beds
  • did some reading
  • had a great conversation about cultural x gender norms regarding shaving, appearance, etc with the Turkish and French vols
  • quick nap before busy evening shift
  • evening shift, many dishes for the 25-guest group staying the night
  • celebrated end of long day with drinks + snacks (amazing madeleines)
(excuse the poor quality), B. made Turkish falafel, we also had mashed avo, tomatoes, onions, B.’s homemade tahini sauce, japanese mayo, milk tea and… it was real good ugh
more plating for customers (didn’t plate but i set table + brought things out, washed dishes, etc), i tried the soup, it was so legit, pumpkin cream
our dinner! salad, rice, miso with nasu/eggplant and tofu, as always, but fried ho-keh (some hokkaido fish that tastes amazing but has many bones), and ODEN I LOVE KONYAKU
  • the lemon madeleines were GREAT
  • the bowl in the corner is masa experimenting with all the flavors we can sense by adding chili, salt, and god knows what else to granola to make a savory snack while he was looking for chips and couldn’t find any
  • more cheese fondue to celebrate (i was very full, did not eat lol)
celebrating end of long shift with beer + white wine + food, while guests also still playing their drinking games outside the kitchen lol
